Pszczyna District

Procedure for granting the brand

The right to use the Local Brand of Pszczyna Land for a given product may be applied for by a natural person, a legal person or another organisational unit without legal personality, acting on the basis of relevant legal regulations.

The call for applications for the brand is announced on the website.

Applications are available at the coordinator’s office and on the brand's website.

The interested entity submits an application for branding to the coordinator (Annex 2).

The certificate (right to use the brand) may be granted if the Applicant and the product (group of products) meet certain certification criteria (Annex 1).

If the Applicant/Brand User wishes to reapply for the certificate (due to its expiry date) and there has been no change to the previously declared criteria (Applicant and product/group of products), they can submit a simplified version of the application (Annex 3).

After submitting the application, the coordinator checks its formal correctness and, if necessary, calls the Applicant to supplement the documents.

It then forwards all complete applications to the Certification Commission.

In the next stage, Applicants are invited to a Commission meeting where they present their products in the form of samples.

At the meeting, the Commission analyses whether the Applicant and the product (product group) meet the required certification criteria and decides whether or not to grant the certificate.

In duly justified cases, the Commission may refuse to award the brand if this is incompatible with its objectives or is contrary to ethical principles, a general sense of aesthetics or could in any way damage the brand's reputation.

There is no right of appeal against the decision of the Certification Commission.

In case of a positive decision of the Committee, the Applicant signs a contract with the coordinator (annex no. 5), which regulates the detailed rules of using the brand.

In exceptional cases, the Certification Commission may award the so-called honorary brand to products that are significant and particularly related to the Pszczyna district (e.g., works of art, folk products, etc.).
Each application for an honorary award of the brand (Annex 4) shall be examined by the Commission on an individual basis.
