Hand embroidery - Tacking through Pszczyna - czepidlo
Bożena Rokita has been passionate about handicraft since she was a child. Sewing, crocheting and embroidery have always been close to her heart. However, the closest to her is our local, unique - the Pszczyna embroidery.
The czepidlo is a women's headwear which was revived in the Pszczyna district around 1920 and formed part of the folk costume. It is a handkerchief made of white, thin linen or batiste, folded in a triangle. The corner hangs down the back and the other two ends are tied on the occiput.
The whole headwear is decorated all around with lace, and the corner hanging on the back is additionally decorated with white embroidery and drawn thread work
Czepidla are currently used by some members of regional folk groups from the Pszczyna region.
